I wake up
in the morning
wanting you by my side
the waves crash
on the shore
a tear stings my eye
I think longingly about
the oppressive heat
igniting my heart
blazing wildly
for all eternity
a smile dances in my eyes
I lie down
in the moon’s fragile light
welcoming any dreams of you
the waves crash
in the darkness
I close my eyes.
